The warm dining room of La Stego — dark wood, dim light and the scent of the grill

About La Stego

Our Story

A passion for fire, meat and tradition

La Stego started with a simple idea: the finest beef deserves the finest preparation. On Amsterdam's historic Damstraat we bring the Argentine grill tradition to the city — with the fire, patience and hospitality Argentine tables are known for.

The Argentine grill tradition — the asado — is more than cooking; it's a ritual. Our chefs carry it on: each cut is chosen with care, seasoned with house-made chimichurri, and cooked exactly as it should be.

At La Stego, it's all about the meat. High-quality Argentine beef, cooked with patience and care. No theatrics, no trends — just a good cut, done the way it should be, with a glass of wine to match.

A glass of Malbec from Mendoza next to a Bife de Chorizo. Chimichurri on the table. A T-Bone big enough to share. Simplicity, flavour, and taking your time — that's what it's about.

Damstraat is one of Amsterdam's oldest streets — travellers and locals have been meeting here for centuries. We carry that on: a table for good food, good wine, and good conversation. Welcome to La Stego.
